Background

You might be wondering about wantok and kin groups.

I grew up in PNG and spent 20+ years exposed to their culture, and it was where I first experienced interacting with people with a disability (see My story on the www:yessupports.com). A wantok is a loyal friend/network , Kin is what people share to tie them together “community”.

Papua New Guineans are very diverse, loyal, fun and warm and these are the characters we look for in staff. They tend to be extremely loyal to kin groups as they take responsibility for each other seriously and this what we have instilled into our company culture and kin groups.
